As there is no manual for the time being here is a freehand translation of a similar thread posted on the russian side of the forum.
OK, here goes...
Engine start
turn on the batteries (electro-panel - Shift+7) and connect them to aircrafts electrical net.
disconnect the converters.
The PO4500 and PO1500. before engine start these should be off! (middle)
OK, we can forget about that panel for the time being and carry on with the overhead (Shift+3).
Turn the booster pumps for the left engine on and close that panel.
Use this switch setup for automatic fuel managment, don't touch red ones ,they are for manual pumping fuel in case of emergency
Open the flight engeneers panel (Shift+2) and flip up the master switch on the VSU. wait 2 seconds, until the hatches are opened (it's possible to see it on the visual model), once the VSU (APU) is on, a green lamp should light up. If it does not, then possibly the air bleed valves are open.
Push the "start" button and observe the VSU start.
Now the air bleed valves can be opened!
on the left panel of the commander (Shift+5) switch on the PO -500 and on the overhead switch the temperature gauges IT-2T. open the shut-off valves and switch on the fire prevention system.
Turn on and check the PRT system, if you don't, then in hot weather you might remain without the engines...
switch and check the vibration meter on the Flight Engeneers panel.
Now the engines can be started!.
lets first start the right engine: On the overhead switch on the booster pumps of the right engine, on the engine start panel select the right engine (switch to the rigrt), flip up the master start switch and push the start button.
After the engine starts, one can turn off the VSU.
The other engine can be started in a similar manner. |

Before Taxi
After engine start set the generators online, the converters PT-1500 and PO -4500, (PO -500 can be switched off).
switch the fuel system to "automatic mode" (three common toggle switches, left and right).
turn on other systems (which I won't mention)
On the navigators panel (shift +1) align the main and reserve gyros.
check the systems - AUASP(ANGLE OF ATTACK AND G-LOAD UNIT) and BKK.
Hydraulics are so far FS default.
all the switches, except the nosegear steering control and rudder are dummies.
Taxi
Add thrust and start moving (refer to the other thread on piloting).
Turn on Nosewheel steering. The turn angle of the nosegear is limited to 8*, for taxiing we turn on the toggle switch "turn by 55" on the Overhead.
During taxiing extend flaps, set the stabilizer to 1.5 * by the toggle switch on the left panel.
we are now ready to roll on..... |

Takeoff and the climb
Extend and switch on the headlights, turn off the "turn by 55" on the upper panel.
set the engine revolutions to 93-100%, depending on takeoff conditions.
Push the Yoke all the way and release brakes.
at rotation speed.pull the yoke back until establishing a pitch of approximately 8*.
continue until the detachment of the aircraft from the strip. retract the landing gear and headlights, remove flaps and shift stabilizer to 0.
Reduce the revolutions to 92-93%.
at an altitude above 200 m, turn on the toggle switch "roll", "pitch" and "Podg. AP " on the Autopilot.
If everything is correct, the yellow "podg" on the AP should show.
establish the necessary vertical speed and heading.Push the button "vkl.AP".
AP will retain the predetermined course and pitch.
Now the control can be handed to the navigator.
over the waypoint turn on ANU mode from DISS - (DOPPLER SPEED-AND-DRIFT METER) and proceed on the planned courses.witch on the ANUcounter and on the main panel press "AP+ANU".
(a more detailed explanation about the navigation systems will come later. For the time being one can read the docs for the TU 114(126) and AN 24).
After reaching Criuse level push - "KB" (altitude hold) on the AP panel.
call the stewardess for some tea... |

Descent and approach
At TOD we disconnect the pitch channel of the AP and reduce revolutions to Idle.
Descend without exceeding the maximum permissible speed.
At transition altitude set the pressure of the arrival airfield and prepare for the approach.
reduce speed to 400 km/h, lower landing gear, after the third (base) flaps to 20 *, stabilizer in postion 2.5 *
for the full-automatic approach we again turn on the pitch channel, we switch toggle switch STU to the position SP, in this case the directors "revive", on the panel of autothrottle we turn on toggle switch "preparation for landing", the speed index on the speedometer becomes alligned with the indicator pointer. Push the "AT" button on the panel.
the speed can be regulated by the toggle switch on the left commander panel.
ON the HSI set the course (3K) to the heading of the runway, and on final press the "course" button on the AP. The aircraft turns itself to the landing pattern. The aircraft should usually capture the glideslope by itself and begin descending down the GS. if this it did not occur, then it is necessary to push the button - "glide path".
Extend flaps to 30*
on the left panel arm spoilers, reduce speed to 280 km/h.
On Automatic mode, in case a goaround is requred, push the throttles to takeoff position. The aircraft will automatically switch to GA mode - with a pitch of 12*, retracting the landing gear, stabilizer and flaps.
after the gain of safe altitude we disconnect the channels of autopilot and we repeat the procedure of the approach.
In the case of successful landing ,extend spoilers and activate reverse, at the speed of 110 km/h and turn off reverse |

In spite of all the tutorials and checklists for the TU-134 found on this forum, I still cannot start the APU. Can an expert tell me how to proceed once the APU inlet are open and the green light is on? The checklist says that the APU and engines start procedures are covered by other documents, but where are they?
Thank you

Once the APU green "ready for start" light is on, hit the button that says 3AnYCK (sorry, can't switch to cyrillic right now) right next to the light.
Left fuel pumps have to be turned on and APU bleed air has to be off.
Hope this helps. |

Hy!
I have a very stupid problem I guess :P
I do exactly what is written here, I'm pressing the APU start button..the
needle goes to 100% then the green light (APu is running light) goes on, and at that moment the whole VSU goes down.
And a red light comes up.(the one which is under the APU stop button).
Can somebody help how can I start the APU or what did i do wrong?
Thank You |

Hello.
Do you have anything turned on on the electrical panel (Shift+5)? The only things that should be turned on are:
1) the three switches in the bottom right corner (batteries);
and after APU start:
2) the rightmost switch in the row of five switches (APU generator);
If you switch on the switches in bottom-center (PO-4500 and such) before the engines are started and engine generators connected, the APU will shut down. (I think it does not have enough power to run these functions on its own).
Hope this helps. |

Is this button after engines start should be in lower position?

Hi,
PT-1500 and PO-4500 to the left - that´s clear, but in two TU-134 Videos on avsim.ru I could also see that PO-4500 switch next to the (lit) white light is in the up position
Is it needed to be in the up position? |
